About the school’s needs
The community of Las Palmas, where the Centro Escolar República de Canadá is located, has faced stigma because of a history of crime and violence. Community members have overcome this challenge through a commitment to fostering a safe environment.
However, young people in the community still face many other challenges, such as the need for increased academic and emotional support. These issues have been even more evident since the pandemic, as social and emotional support became more necessary than ever. Strengthening family involvement for the youth in the Las Palmas community is also essential for their growth and development.
Help give the children of the Centro Escolar República de Canadá the future they deserve.

Our school faces several challenges, from the need to strengthen academic and emotional support for students—especially in the aftermath of the pandemic—to improving infrastructure to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment.
In addition, we must overcome our limited resources and promote greater involvement and collaboration among parents, so we can provide more effective support to students in their educational process.
The school remains a beacon of hope and opportunity for our community. We strive to cultivate a welcoming and nurturing environment where each student can develop to his or her fullest potential.
We believe in the transformative power of education and the critical role it plays in empowering students to become engaged and aware citizens.”
—Principal Laura
