About the school’s needs

The community faces significant challenges, such as difficult socioeconomic conditions, family disintegration, and a lack of parental preparation.

These factors affect families and students, who often arrive at school without having eaten or done their homework.

Because families are focused on other issues, students are at risk of dropping out of school. Youth may become involved with criminal groups operating in the area.

Help give the children of the Centro Escolar Católico Pablo VI the future they deserve.

    About Sponsor a School

    Meet the students

    Isabella

“My name is Isabella, and I am 11 years old. My dream is to have a better economic condition so my dad doesn’t have to work so much. I also want to be able to travel to Disney World.

In my free time, I like to play video games like Fortnite. In my community, many young people face challenges such as being victims of fights and violence, and my dream is that these situations will decrease and there will be more respect between people.

I would like to see my school clean and with a playground that has swings and a seesaw.”

    —Isabella, 11

    Vinsenth

“My name is Vinsenth, and I am 12 years old. My dream is to be a professional soccer player for Club FC Barcelona.

I enjoy playing video games, building LEGOs, and playing soccer. The youth in my community face challenges such as poor family finances, making it difficult to meet basic needs such as food, water, and clothing.

Many have problems getting to school, and some must go alone because their parents work.

My dream is for everyone to have the opportunity to improve their family economy through education, from high school to college, becoming active and prepared people, taking care of the environment, and thinking of others.

I would like to see my school clean, tidy, colorful and with games in the playground.”

    —Vinsenth, 12

    Meet the principal

“My name is Magda, and I am the principal of this school.

The biggest challenge of our school is to empathize with parents so that they support their children in their homework, to motivate teachers by being guides and role models, and to positively impact our children both academically and in their development as human beings. In addition, we seek to be the best school option in the community.

The school is fundamental in the community, representing an option to improve the quality of life and to be an agent of change. In the last five years, we have faced problems of insecurity and vandalism, but thanks to the commitment of the educational staff, the food support programs, the computer room with internet access, and the support of organizations such as Glasswing, we have been able to move forward.

This school is active, value-forming, and always looking for opportunities to improve.

If I had the opportunity to manage more resources, I would emphasize that financial support is crucial to meet the basic needs of our students and to make a significant difference in their lives and in the lives of their families.”

    —Principal Magda
