About the school’s needs
The Napoleón Ríos School Center is located in the center of the city of Santa Ana, a busy place during the week. In 2001, the school and its surrounding community were affected by the explosion of a business that sold food.
Help give the children of the Centro Escolar Napoleón Ríos the future they deserve.

“My goal is to graduate from college and enjoy time with my family, especially my mom.
Some of the biggest challenges that young people face are depression, family and economic problems, and parental abandonment. I have a dream to create a foundation that provides educational support, psychological counseling, and financial help through fundraising campaigns.
For my school, I would like to see more playgrounds and recreational spaces for girls and boys, better-lit bathrooms, and spaces that promote self-care.”
—María, 16

In my community, we face challenges such as a lack of interest in studying, depression, family problems, economic problems, and bullying. My dream related to these challenges is to seek support from teachers and parents, to defend children from bullying and resolve conflicts without violence.
I want to see my school clean, with spaces to eat, lit bathrooms, and workshops on important topics such as electronics, drugs, and interpersonal relationships. I would also like to see classrooms with fans to combat the heat.”
—Juan, 13

This is a great challenge because in the community, every student faces daily challenges such as economic problems, domestic violence, and teenage pregnancy.
I believe that this school represents a central place in the daily lives of the students, because they seek to change their future.
We want to leave a legacy of consistent work and see a community committed to the academic and emotional growth of their children.
In recent years, the school has overcome challenges such as a nearby explosion that damaged its infrastructure. It has recovered through collaboration with the government and the community. We still need resources to continue to enrich students’ education, with adequate spaces for recreational and sports activities.”
—Principal Rosa
